LEAKED – 2011 Jeep Wrangler Interior Image

As many have reported the 2011 Jeep Wrangler will have an all new interior. Allpar had some terrific spy shots anonymously sent into them of the new interior. It appears a low sheen soft touch pad will be on top off the dash and on the door panels. The steering wheel is either lifted from the new 2011 Grand Cherokee or is very similar along with the shift knob. The 2011 Wranglers will also have the option of the hard tops painted to match the exterior color. For all the changes and details of the 2011 Jeep Wrangler head over to Allpar.

LEAKED – 2012 Dodge Durango (Magnum?)

As previously reported the new upcoming 2012 Dodge Durango (or is that Magnum?) is coming very soon.  In fact if earlier leaks are correct the new Durango should start production on November 8.  That is pending that the production is still on schedule or that the schedule has not shifted.  Judging by this picture which is obviously in the factory or near the pre-production line the vehicle is probably on schedule.

The design has not changed much from the earlier leaks which is to say it is strong but dramatically different from the current Durango.  The Durango (Magnum?) will be based on the new Grand Cherokee platform though probably a little longer due to third row.  The powertrain line up will also mimic the new 2011 Grand Cherokee with the Pentastar V6 and Hemi V8.

BREAKING – 2011 Hyundai Elantra Interior Image

Somehow the boys over at Hyundai Blog managed to get their hands on an image of the 2011 Hyundai Elantra interior.  I must say wow.  That is not bad looking for the vehicle class.  The updated Elantra will battle the new 2011 Chevrolet Cruze and 2011 Ford Focus among others.  We have already seen the exterior when Hyundai showed the Avante which is essentially the Elantra in other markets.  They exterior styling takes cues from the new 2011 Sonata.  We can assume the refreshed 2011 Elantra will make a debut in the upcoming auto show season.

BREAKING – Evolution MotorSports & Gumpert Racing Summer Tour Suffers Set Back

The Trailer

Early this morning while we were all sleeping at approximately 3 am EST the Evolution Motorsports team had an accident in New York.  Thankfully no one was injured though the trailer is a total loss.  The three cars inside of the trailer were the Porsche 997.1 EVT1200, 997.2 EVT650 and the Gumpert Apollo.  The 997.1 EVT1200 took the brunt of the damage while the Gumpert Apollo left the trailer without a scratch.  The summer tour has been put on hold after July 18 and will hopefully resume after August 10.

12 July 2010 / Tempe, AZ – The Evolution MotorSports & Gumpert Racing Summer Tour suffered a set back this morning after an accident in New York at approximately 3 am EST. All occupants were uninjured, and there were no peripheral accidents for passing traffic.

On board the 3 car EVOMS hauler were Evolution MotorSports founder and president, Todd Zuccone, along with Matthew Carrick, subcontractor for Evolution MotorSports. Mr. Carrick was driving at the time of the incident.

While everyone is okay, the trailer is a complete loss. Of the three cars on the trailer, the 997.1 EVT1200 took the most damage to the hood, front fenders and windshield. There were a few scratches to the 997.2 EVT650 and the Gumpert apollo came out unscathed. These three high performance machines were only 5 miles from their next stop at Legend Porsche on Long Island, NY for events scheduled for the 12 / 13 July.

The Evolution MotorSports & Gumpert Racing Tour, based in Tempe, AZ departed for the East Coast of the USA June 15. The tour has made dozens of stops at Porsche and Performance dealers as well as race track events in Florida, South Carolina, and several stops in the New York/New Jersey area.

The most recent stop was at the Monticello Motor Club in Monticello, New York on Sunday 11 July for a private viewing to club members. The two Porsches and the Gumpert apollo will continue to be on display at Legend Porsche in Massapequa, NY on Long Island as scheduled for 12/13 July.

At the end of this week, the cars will be on display at New Jersey Motorsports Park on Friday for the “Hooked on Driving” event, on Saturday with Fabspeed for a reservations required tuning event and on Sunday at Fabspeed’s facility near Philadelphia.

The company intends to have the two Porsches back in Arizona for repairs in the week of 18 July along with the Gumpert apollo. Tour dates between 18 July and 10 August must be cancelled. With the success of the tour thus far, the company plans to complete the scheduled tour dates which now has appearances scheduled through the first week of October.

Video – Watch the Supercharged LS9 V8 Being Built for the Corvette ZR1

General Motors just announced the new Corvette build experience.  This is a program where customers can option to hand build an engine that will later find its way into their shiny new Corvette Z06 or ZR1.  The cost for the “do it yourself option” is $5,800.  These engines are hand built in the Wixom plant in Michigan.  Above is a time lapse video of a ZR1 engine being made.

2011 Nissan Quest Pictures All In One Place

The 2011 Nissan Quest will go on sale early next year.  We can expect a full reveal (basically already has happened in via the pictures) at the LA Auto Show this fall.  All I have to say….not bad!

Naked 2011 Refreshed Hyundai Genesis

Yup, that’s right, you are viewing the completely undisguised 2011 Hyundai Genesis.  Most changes are slight but still notable.  The front end has a new front bumper (see the lower air intakes) with updated headlights (reportedly LED’s), new front/rear/side skirts and rear bumper with Lexus LS460 looking exhaust outlets integrated nicely.  That new rumored eight speed transmission is obviously on board with the new BMW looking “shift knob.”  That eight speed transmission is probably hooked to the rumored 5.0 liter Tau V8 which is an update to the current 4.6 liter Tau V8.  Most likely the output will break the 400 hp barrier.  This engine will also probably be in the upcoming Equus.  Check out more spy shots at The Car Blogger.

Chrysler to Produce a “Man Van”

Apparently Chrysler is preparing a “man van”, which will be a special version of the Dodge Grand Caravan.  Expect a slight body kit, larger wheels, and “hot-colored” stitching on the seats and steering wheel.  It sounds like Chrysler knows it will not generate huge sales rather just buzz and attention.
