Review – 2011 Ford Edge SEL: One Sharp Edge

2011 Ford Edge SELWhen you have a vehicle that sells well, a redesign can keep product planners up at night. The Ford Edge is just such a vehicle. So is the second generation a sharpened Edge, or did Ford mess with a good thing?

I recently spent a week with the second generation Ford Edge SEL to see if it is even better than the first generation.

2011 Minneapolis Auto Show

2011 Chevrolet Corvette Z06March brings many things to Minneapolis, melting snow, warmer weather, usually at least one large snow storm, and of course, the Minneapolis Auto Show. This year the automakers were in full force. Both Porsche and BMW returned to the show, sadly Infiniti was still notably absent. Review – 2011 Kia Optima SX Turbo: What’s An Optima?

2011 Kia Optima SX TurboIf I asked you what the last generation Kia Optima looked like, you would probably have no idea. You would also probably not be able to tell me one thing about it. In fact, if you were looking at a group of de-badged cars, you probably couldn’t pick one out. That’s a problem. Though, once you see the new Kia Optima, you will have none of these issues. Are You The Ugliest Jaguar S-Type Ever?

What you are looking at is the vision of Italian tuner Panzani Design for a Jaguar S-Type. My take? Kill it with fire! Seriously this has to be one of the ugliest S-Types on earth…

Get Ready Minneapolis, Fiat Is Coming To Town

Luther Automotive group announced today that it will be the exclusive dealer for Fiat in the state of Minnesota. The first dealership will be located in Brooklyn Park and will open its doors in April.

In other news, you will soon be able to purchase a Fiat 500 in Minnesota. The two nice looking ladies in the above picture are not an available option.

Soon after the launch of the 500, we will see Fiat bring the Cabriolet and hi-strung Abarth versions to our nice country. An EV 500 is also in the cards for the near future.

Should MINI be scared? That is yet to be determined, but the Abarth version should be a hot little number.

Review – 2011 Buick Regal CXL: Is It Really Sport Injected?

In my short time on this earth, the Buick Regal has never been a car that seemed like it was sport injected. Yet for some years that was the marketing that went along with the nameplate. Sure, from 1997 to 2004 you could get a supercharged V-6 in a Regal. But did that really make it sporty?

Now we have a new Regal, and yes, it is sport injected. At least that is what the marketing tells us. I recently spent a week with the new Regal to see if the marketing really translates to the pavement. Read More…

The Search Is On – Looking For The Next Federmobile

As some of you know, I sold my Jeep. Funny thing is, when I put it up for sale no decision had been made on its replacement. Now that the dust has settled and my Jeep will be going to its new owners this weekend, it is time to get serious about what my next vehicle will be.

Over the past three weeks I have narrowed the choices down. Some were impractical, while some were going to just be money pits. In the end some clear winners have emerged – unfortunately they are all so different and I am having trouble deciding. Each choice has an upside and of course, like everything else, a downside. Lets get right to it. Read More…
